PPE REQUIRED

​PRE-START CHECKS
  1. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as listed above
  2. Ensure all personnel are trained and competent to perform the task at hand
  3. Ensure personnel are fit for duty
  4. Ensure truck is clean and fully stocked with tools and supplies.
  5. Conduct a trip inspection according to the NSC Standard 13 Pt. 2 Schedule 1 

COLD WEATHER PRE-START CHECKS (less than °0)
  1. Ensure valves are wrapped
  2. Start truck build air at idle
  3. Put truck in gear, Engage PTO, Take out of Gear
  4. Turn vac / Pressure to neutral
  5. Turn vac pump on keep at idle for 5-10 minutes
  6. Idle up to 1000 to 1300 for 15 minutes till truck is warm, with vac on pressure with cyclone or rear valve open. 

PRE JOB PROCEDURE​
  1. Start the engine and allow all systems to warm up.
  2. Do a walk around of the truck to ensure there are no leaks, everything is in good visual condition, and you are clear of anything that would interfere with the operation of your unit such as a tree branches, overhead powerlines or overhead doors.
  3. Always drive to road conditions and follow all traffic laws.
  4. Always use a spotter when required to back up.
  5. When arriving at the job site, position the truck appropriately and set any required safety signals or barriers.
  6. Do not enter customer buildings with truck.
  7. Do not back up to air exchangers or intakes
  8. Complete tasks as dispatched.

POST JOB PROCEDURE​
  1. Complete a visual inspection of truck and job site for any damage or signs of wear, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  2. Properly clean and stow hoses and any other equipment used.
  3. Disengage the PTO and vacuum systems, ensuring the vehicle is ready for normal driving.
  4. Document the completed job, recording volume of materials collected/purged,
  5. ​Complete a final walk around before leaving site.​
  6. Record any issues if necessary.

END OF DAY PROCEDURE
  1. Fill trucks fuel tank
  2. Ensure truck is clean, free of garbage and fully stocked with tools and supplies.
  3. Conduct a trip inspection according to the NSC Std 13 Pt. 2 Schedule 1
  4. Idle truck down
  5. Shut truck off
  6. Turn off night switch (if equipped)
  7. Complete all required paperwork from the day, close out driver log.
  8. Return keys to key box
COLD WEATHER END OF DAY
  1. Plug in block heater
  2. Ensure valves are open, use a drip bucket if needed
  3. Empty air brakes
