PPE REQUIRED
PRE-START CHECKS
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as listed above
- Ensure all personnel are trained and competent to perform the task at hand
- Ensure personnel are fit for duty
- Ensure truck is clean and fully stocked with tools and supplies.
- Conduct a trip inspection according to the NSC Standard 13 Pt. 2 Schedule 1 (See 1001-SWP-T.INSP)
COLD WEATHER PRE-START CHECKS (less than °0)
- Ensure valves are wrapped
- Start truck build air at idle
- Put truck in gear, Engage PTO, Take out of Gear
- Turn Vac / Pressure to neutral
- Turn Vac pump on keep at idle for 5-10 minutes
- Idle up to 1000 to 1300 for 15 minutes till truck is warm, with Vac on pressure with cyclone or rear valve open.
FILL TRUCKS WATER TANK
- Pull up safely to water hose, leaving room to connect hose.
- Connect hose to trucks water inlet, with a secure connection
- Open valve, enter code
- Turn on switch to pump water into truck tanks.
- Let tank fill, they do have an overflow spout. Listen for a splash.
- Add 1 cap of enzyme while filling tank
- Close valve, and turn off switch before disconnecting hose.
SAFE WORK PROCEDURE
- Start the engine and allow all systems to warm up.
- Do a walk around of the truck to ensure there are no leaks, everything is in good visual condition, and you are clear of anything that would interfere with the operation of your unit such as a tree branches, overhead powerlines or overhead doors.
- Always drive to road conditions and follow all traffic laws.
- Always use a spotter when required to back up.
- When arriving at the job site, position the truck appropriately and set any required safety signals or barriers.
- Do not enter customer buildings with truck.
- Do not back up to air exchangers or intakes
- Perform tasks as dispatched.
EMPTY TRUCKS SEPTIC TANK
- Pull up safely to the sewer hose on cement pad, leaving room to connect hose to truck.
- With caution, remove overflow cap.
- Connect ground hose to the trucks overflow, securing them.
- Open valve located on the truck to release the sewer.
- When hose starts to kick, that’s indication tank is empty.
- Close valve before disconnecting hose.
- Wash any leftover debris on truck, hoses, or camlocks.
- Do NOT forget to put the cap back on the overflow.
END OF DAY PROCEDURE
- Fill trucks fuel tank
- Ensure truck is clean, free of garbage and fully stocked with tools and supplies.
- Conduct a trip inspection according to the NSC Std 13 Pt. 2 Schedule 1 (See 1001-SWP-T.INSP)
- Complete all required paperwork from the day, close out driver log.
- Ensure valves are open, use a drip bucket if needed
- Empty air brakes
