13 HOUR DRIVING RULE
A work shift is the period of time that a driver is “on the job”. The work shift begins when a driver starts work for the day and ends when the driver stops for a period of rest which lasts for at least 8 consecutive hours. A work shift can span across more than one calendar day.
According to the provincial Drivers’ Hours of Service , a driver may not drive a commercial vehicle after they have already driven 13 hours in a work shift. They may drive again after they have taken at least 8 consecutive hours of off-duty time.
15 HOUR ON DUTY RULE
A driver may not drive a commercial vehicle at any time after they have been on duty for 15 or more hours. They may drive again after they have taken at least 8 consecutive hours off-duty.
"BREAK" RULE
The break rule refers to a break in DRIVING. You must stop your vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes before accumulating a total of 4 hours drive time. If you go over 4 hours, you must stop your vehicle for a total of 30 minutes before accumulating 6 hours of drive time.
MAKE SURE THE TABLET REGISTERS THAT YOU ARE NOT DRIVING. You might need to manually change your duty status.

Only works if you are travelling less than 5KM/hr
